-International furniture Design workshop, with Chris Kabel. (2009.12)
Here is the workshop theme: the title is: X10 (or times ten)
we are asked to bring an object with them and then make ten completely different versions of this object by using different materials, different functions, different proportions, etc. It is an exploration with a chosen object as a starting point that will provide the students with an extension of their vocabulary
My item : measuring tape
10 objects for X10 PROJECT
When people need measuring without measurable product (ruller, measuring tape, tapeline or etc..), they often try to measure using other object that can be standard. I thought these cases. And I tried to express them more specific. I also tried to make new way ruller using something that may be it around our life.

Bracelet tapeline (left one) : You can measure using zip
Tapeline for taking the measurement of girth (right one)

One span ruller (about 20cm)

Belt tapeline ( one hole per 1cm and one white point per 10cm )

4 times sound is 1cm(left one) : I found when if this grip of curt knife goes 4 steps, it moves 1 cm. Through this way, if you put a pencil at the hole of walnut-handle and move it for 4 sounds (tic tic tic tic), you can draw a line, 1cm.
Rolling ruller(right one) : When you roll the object, you can mark a dot about your apart(5cm, 10cm, 15cm...).
